Climbing Frame Base and Woodland Play Area

Levelling and planting in preparation for children's climbing frame and slide.

Finished frame area and stepping stone path.

Before: An uneven mudbath containing sunken objects, shrubs and rubble.

Path, plants and debris to be moved.

Three days spent levelling soil, moving and adding sleeper borders, transplanting willows and woodland ground cover and finally laying sand, mesh and bark chips.

The path to the compost bin was relaid, sarcocca and euphorbias transplanted, plus climbing hydrangea and Clematis armandii planted in each back corner. Remains of the forysthia I removed are now being used as bug hotels.

The children are very excited and can’t wait for their parents to finally construct the climbing frame.

Have tools, will travel!
