You may be interested to see how/ where I source my plants. Once I have discussed requirements and budgets with clients I usually go to Coblands, an excellent trade nursery near Sevenoaks, who also supply topsoil and compost, and deliver to South London for a reasonable rate. Please note I require a bank transfer in advance, and need to charge for my time and travel, as usually have to fit in nursery runs at weekends. I also require the client’s email address and mobile number for the couriers, to arrange a suitable delivery date and time.

The plant centre is made up of easy to navigate sections including popular, in season contrasting shrubs, perennials, hydrangeas, rhododendrons and azaleas, acers, ferns, grasses, shrubs, evergreens and trees.

Occasionally I will go to a specialist supplier such as The Japanese Garden Centre near Tonbridge, or a trusted local garden centre where I can get trade rates, such as Croxted Road Garden Centre, or The Nunhead Gardener.

The photos show trolleys full of plants for the following schemes: A semi-formal, low maintenance front garden border; a shrubby sun-trap front garden of a blue house – so a mainly pink scheme; a riot of colour, but nothing too tall, for a large family garden; a pollinator-friendly mauve and white scheme for professional young couple, and a small shady woodland section.
