Planting for Sun and Shade in Hillside Courtyard

Dappled sun/ shade planting for raised areas and wall borders in crazy paved leafy courtyard.

Following on from the sunny border post, the two back raised borders, and the left wall border are both sun and shade and required appropriate planting. I used hardy perennials including Tiarella, Heucherella, Aquilegia, Perovskia, Hesperantha, Perovskia and Geranium Mrs Kendall Clarke in the raised borders. Epimedium and Lily of the Valley were already in situ. Along the left wall I added Fuchsias, prostrate Ceanothus, Cornus Alba Elegantissima, Astilbe plus more geraniums and Hesperantha for autumn colour.
